T60 + Vista + Lenovo Bluetooth Drivers + Skype = CRASH

#1 Post by tebbens » Mon Apr 30, 2007 9:29 am

I wiped the HD, Installed Vista (no issues), then installed the Lenovo Bluetooth Drivers (no install issues), then finally installed Skype.

While using Skype the system crashes and says something about a .sys file included with the Bluetooth Driver.

Anyone else having this problem ?

Yup, exactly the same problem, only I was using the native Vista drivers on a T60p with the Lenovo Vista install (I restored the system from the recovery partition eliminating as much Lenovo-bloat as I could).

Searches of Google and Microsoft's KB didn't turn up much. It sems like people are experiencing this problem, but not a lot is being written about it.

I suspect it's Skype's problem, since they don't officially support Vista and every other Bluetooth product works fine.

What do you mean "the latest"? I don't want to use Lenovo's drivers. I am using the included Vista support for the Bluetooth. Can you please describe in more detail what you installed?

same here in X60 with VISTA and BENQ S31 with VISTA

It seems that not only Thinkpads that happens but also other brands as well.

Now, I have to use Google Talk instead, so far it works just fine

I've got the lenovo package since it also carries a ms hotfix for vista which you only get by calling support. It is described here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929577.

I have this driver installed http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67250
