Does anyone know what this file is?
Thank you.
dtopmfc.ocx
I believe it is some kind of browser add-in. As an ActiveX control, not much is known about it. Does the file appear in your list of browser add-ins (assuming you are using IE) or as a running process in Task Manager?
You can try disabling it in IE's Browser Add-in Manager or, if that does not work, renaming the file to dtopmfc.OLD, then reboot to see if it has any impact on your system.
But be careful. It is found in the Windows System32 directory, so be sure to back up your data and/or set a System Restore point first before renaming the file.
Does your virus scanner pick up anything from this file? Consider running a trojan scanner on it as well as Spybot Search & Destroy if you have not done so yet.
