Stop the beeping already!

#1 Post by proFeign » Sun May 27, 2007 11:25 pm

Howdy,

I have an x60s that i never use for audio stuff so it's always muted and since i had to use it as a tone generator this weekend it became of severe aggravation to me that I can't disable (or so it seems) the "BOOP" that it emits every time i adjust the volume via the keyboard buttons or the "master volume" windows utility. I have "no sounds" enabled as my profile and i can't find anywhere in smax or sounds to disable anything else...

Is it an IBM setting?

I'd say there's two places to look:

- Thinkpad Configuration Utility; Audio section
- BIOS

Thinkpad config fixed it. Thanks! I never use most of those utilities so I didn't even know that was there.
