do the bluetooth drivers use widcomm stack?

on my xp install, the BT drivers use from what i can tell, the widcomm stack and not the microsoft one (the BT icon changes colour depending on status with the widcomm one if i understand correctly).

do the above vista BT drivers use widcomm or MS stack?

I believe its the widcomm stack. Its a lot better integrated in vista.

i tried installing it but it didnt detect any BT devices, enabled BT using FN+F5, vista automatically installed some drivers and put the standard BT tray icon in my systray. installed the T60 bluetooth driver from the site (huge dl argh!) and rebooted..

still didnt have the widcomm tray icon, the one where i think, its red with a blue symbol if BT is off, white on blue if its enabled but nothing connected and green on blue if a BT device is connected, but the standard icon is still there?

i dont have a my BT places like i do if i install the TP BT driver in XP.

weirdly in the keyboard customiser for vista, the shortcut keys for wireless/BT radio control are disabled.
