Norton Internet Security & Vista

#1 Post by jgrobertson » Sun Jun 10, 2007 7:33 pm

I installed Vista 64 and things were going quite well. The wireless, was very smooth, and it was quite responsive.

Then, I installed the stuff from Lenovo. Some slow down. Then I installed Norton Internet Security with the 64 bit version. Then the whole thing came to its knees. Long pauses when initiating an application etc.

What has been the experience of others?

I'm not a fan of norton internet security for an experienced PC user it should not be on the list of software to use.

AVG freeware edition for Vista check and see if they have a 64 bit version not sure, Windows Defender and use the built in firewall, safe browsing is a big part of not getting hit on too. Or go to norton corporate.

Check this thread :)

I'm thinking about trying the Nod32 since forum members get a discount, that's next on the to do list.
