iTunes encounter...

So I decided to take iTunes off my A31 and use a different machine to sync my iPod with. No big deal I thought. WRONG!

After iTunes was uninstalled my laptop "lost" the CD/DVD drives in the laptop. It would automatically try and reinstall the drives when the machine powers up but it fails. I tried the fix with the filters in the Registry Editor as described in the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060

I can't reinstall the drives from the windows disks, or the A31 disks that I have. The only way that I was able to get them working again was to restore the computer to an earlier date. But I want to take iTunes off here in the meantime.

Thoughts?
