Help, clean install from external dvd drive

#1 Post by Chispad60 » Thu Jun 21, 2007 1:29 pm

I'm trying a clean windows Vista install in my x60s, is the first time i try to run a setup from BIOS. My USB device is an external LG writer (DVD multi recorder RW.+-....) the BIOS is not reading this device.

What i have tried:

1. In BIOS config the device USB is enabled.
2. In BIOS boot options i have choose USB-CD device to be the first one.
3. The other two USB options for booting are in 2nd and 3rd place.
4. The hard disk is not enable as an option.
5. I have tried from F12 device list, and it only appears de HD and the LAN, as an option.

The BIOS doesn't recognize any USB device connected. And this device works perfectly in Windows. I think it does read something because when connected, at startup the fingerprint access fails automatically 3 times because of the device. And then ask for the password.

So..Where is the problem?
Thanks 4 all, F. Suárez

This is basically the same post in the "thinkpad general hardware" so per forum rules we can only post in one or the other not both, sorry.
