Hello,
I have a T60 and reinstalled Vista and reformatted my hard drive in the process. I did some system updates and my system had trouble booting up. So I am now attempting to recover the system through the Recovery Disk that I made from another T60. I can enter Rescue and Recovery, but when I try to recover, it says "Product Recovery function has been removed".
What can I do? Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: "Product Recovery function has been removed"
You say "Recovery Disc" - A set of recovery disks is a bootable cd and 6/7 cds or 1 dvd. If you only have 1 disk you need to go back to the other T60 and create a complete set. Alot of users think they have created recovery media, but have mistakenly only created boot cd. When you go into "Create Recovery Media" there are two options; at the top of the window you can create a boot cd or make another HDD bootable, at the bottom of the window you can create a set of recovery cds, the first must be a cd then it doesn't matter.dtzihe wrote:Hello,

Hi spike911137, welcome to the forum.spike9711137 wrote:I am stuck with this same issue. I bought my t60 with no recovery partition and I have recovery discs also.
If you already have recovery cds you shouldn't be having problems. Have you checked in BIOS that the first boot device is IDE CD? (Press F1 when starting, choose "Startup" then "Boot", if needs be choose "cd" and move it to the top of the list using the F6 button).
If this doesn't help, let us know exactly how you are trying to recover the TP.
