DVD Playback is scrambled

#1 Post by Vasant56 » Fri Jul 06, 2007 7:21 pm

Hey,
I have a T42 with no IBM Preload on it, and for some reason DVD Playback is scrambled, I have all drivers working, does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

Have you checked that the REGION code is correct?
Is it perhaps a not quite legal copy of a DVD?
Do all DVDs act up?
Does it have all the needed Codecs? http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_L ... c_Pack.htm

Yeah it does this for every dvd.. but not all player (I get it to work with VLC), but not WMP or TheatreTek (which I want to use when I have my PC connected to the TV)

The DVD decoder would be to blame for the scrambled playback. Wrong region codes will simply result in the DVD not playing at all. I would try using Media Player Classic to play DVD than VLC Media player. I have had better luck with MPC than VLC.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.

I second the suggestion of Media Player Classic.
