Can't wait to see what's in it.After lots of wavering, Microsoft has finally made the due date for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) official: The update will ship in the latter half of 2007.

It's just a beta but hopefully they will fix some of the problems in Vista, not just add more "features". Looks like the final version will not be available until closer to the end of the year.
You guys go ahead and beta test it. I'll give Vista a try again when SP1 is finally released (if it fixes any problems). Running Vista feels like beta testing right now.

I"m (obviously) not running Vista on my old reliable R52, but on my main 2800+ AMD 64x2 3-gig box, it's a wonder. Vista recognized all my accessories, including my TV/FM tuner, and it's been very stable. It's only crashed once, and that's when I tried opening a too large file in Notepad. I suspect it wouldn't be worthwhile trying to upgrade the R52 to run any flavor of Vista, but it runs a treat on my big box. Favorite feature? Definitely search from any Explorer window! I use it so often that I'm sorry not have it available on the TP.
a R52 should be more than enough to run it. I have it on my T42 with 2GB of RAM and this thing is so nice (including full AERO). Everything i use works great and all the extra features just make using it easier (i'm a basicl user kinda, no special apps here). I just don't like that it uses more battery power with AERO but hey it's worth it.
Oh and i'm not just talking about glass, i'm talking more flip3d and other live previews that is included with AERO.
Vista SP1 should be nice, as it can only get better from here. XP was great and i'll miss it too but i'm tired of it already, 6yrs old already.
