One very good registry cleaner is Registry First Aid. I use that with good results. It is not free, but it is top of class. The newest version 6 is supposed to be Vista compliant. I am using the newest version but still on XP for business reasons.

There may, of course, be other good cleaners out there. This is just my experience. ... JDH

I've used in vista CCleaner, wich is free.

3 suites come with registry cleaner:

Tune Up 2007
TwekVI
Vista Manager.

I recomend Tune UP. It comes with a lot of utilities. Give it a try

I've been using both Registry First Aid and Registry Mechanic. At first, when using Registry First Aid, it looked good but had bad experience with it... it deleted some files/registry entires and my Adobe CS2 stopped working properly - for instance the illustrator just wouldn't load. I uninstalled it, used a backup and everything worked. Tried using Registry Mechanic - works great and at least for me - no complications whatsoever.
But probably it was just bad luck with Registry First Aid.

Cheers

You could have rolled back the registry changes, which has been a capability in RFA for at least the last 3 major versions.
