Vista Mail?

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with opening or saving attachments. Periodically I get mail not responding when trying either. Steve Cochran on the MS Vista Mail forum wrote a program that fixes it, but in my case only temporarily. Some on that forum are also saying Norton or other AV programs are the cause. I use NOD32 and after uninstalling it and using Avast and AVGfree ,both claimed to not cause this hiccup.....still happened. Anyway (long story short) I have reinstalled NOD32 and installed Thunderbird, and other than not being able to import my contacts, it is a very robust email and news reader. That seems to have solved the immediate problem, but it would be nice if there was a better solution...
