has anyone tried this programme? Is it good or better than the power mgmt provided by TP/IBM/Lenovo or XP?

The Lenovo Powermanagement works perfectly with your TP and let's you change / customize your power plans in every detail. Just take a look at Powermanger options and read thru the help file.
That would not be the case using any other pm-software. Just leave it as it is.
BTW some forum members are using NHC (notebook hardware control) to undervolt the CPU for extending the battery life. But once again i'm not seeing any benefit and in some cases you might run into issues running two or more software to control power management.
