Widows XP installation

#1 Post by qazthinkzaq » Thu Sep 27, 2007 2:34 pm

Hi.
For last few days i am try to install windows XP Pro over Home edition and sava RnR but every time Predesktop area is disappeared.
I restore entire hdd with recovery Dvd to manufacturer settings .
then wint Partition Magic/Acronis i made 2 partitions c-for win and d-data. Everything works fine.
Then i make new clean installation of windows. the first thing after that is to install RnR 3.1 or 4.1 /the resuli it the same/ bout are making backups - incremental backups. But when i want to restor - i select the backup from app then windows restarts and nothing it starts again without restoration. If i press blue button via startup ther is a menu with error with option to acsess bios, choos boot device but no ThinkVantage predesktop area.

So my question is - How to clean install Windows without loosing RnR ?
Best regards

If you are starting with a good working predesktop area, after installing a new copy of Windows, run the following.

Rescue and Recovery - Recovery repair diskette
