Outlook 2003 not responding under VIsta

it's really weird. sometimes it's fine. but when i receive an e mail it takes FOREVER . basically it's not responding for all that time.

i use the same PST file under XP and it works fine there.

i updated to SP3 , same ...no improvement.

There do appear to be no end of problems reported via a Google search between Outlook 2003 and Vista

that really sucks and the solution looks like a real PITA.
i just tried to go to the Outlook settings and change few things
to see if it helps, but even that i cannot do. it hangs suddenly and that is it. i cannot do a thing...

ok the only thing that worked so far was to re install Office .
works so far.

after re install , i tried to download SP3 again , but it didn't let me ...weird

You may want to postpone installing SP3 for Office 2003, regardless of your OS:

After few hours that it was STBY , it back to not responding

This is mostly a shot in the dark but try disabling Vista auto tuning at the dos prompt:

To disable:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable

To reenable:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
