Intel Chipset Support unable to run after WinXP install

#1 Post by Likeathink » Fri Oct 19, 2007 2:00 pm

Been searching various forums, sites all morning to no avail, it would help relieve some frustration if someone can share their experience and help me out.

Did a Fresh Windows XP Pro (no SP2) reinstall on an X61s
I read in a guide, install Intel Chipset Support before anything else.
Downloaded from here. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67818

Now I keep getting this error message

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I'd like to start using this laptop, please lend a helping hand.[/url]

MOD EDIT: Picture without warning, overlimit, modified to link.

I might be wrong but I think you would require SP2.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

As you stated, ry, The Intel Chipset Utility requires SP2 to install, Thinkpad is up and running fast on Winxp.
