Windoze Wireless config

#1 Post by Six_Shooter » Mon Nov 05, 2007 10:40 pm

I have a rather annoying problem that keeps popping up....

System: T30
OS: XP SP2 (installed on formatted HDD about two weeks ago, using an "XP OEM" disc that was provided for me when I bought the laptop).
Wireless adaptor: Belkin

It seems that anytim I restart my T30 or bring it out of hibernation, the view wireless network window, shows me that I have to use another program to configure my wireless.

It says that if I want Windows to configure this wireless connection that I must start Wireless Zero Configuration, and gives me an article number 871122 on the Microsoft website to enable this.

I have done that, SEVERAL times now and it doesn't seem to remain as a locked in setting.
I have to enable the WZC BEFORE I can get the "wireless" tab to show up when I click on change settings for this connection, to click the let windows configure this connection box.

This is getting rather effing annoying and want to take care of this.

Will I have to remove my Belkin software to enable this?

I want to get windows to control this because I will be adding an onboard WiFi card soon and will need this to happen.

I have to

After I typed this out, I decided to look though the Belkin software a bit more and found a check box that may be causing me the frustration that was labeled: "Let this tool manage your wireless settings". I unchecked it, so I'll see what happens.
