After updating Vista, many Lenovo features disappear
This ended up kind of long, so you can skip to the last two paragraphs if you want to save time...
I'd been putting my computer to sleep without shutting down or rebooting for a couple of weeks, when finally I decided to reboot it. Vista automatically installed several updates when I did. I slowly began to notice after booting up that several Lenovo-specific features seemed to be missing.
The first I noticed was that the (awesome) track button scroll wasn't working: instead of keeping the cursor fixed when I hold down on the middle button, it would change to a compass rose, and the rate of scrolling would be proportional to the distance of my cursor from where it was when I initially clicked. I hate that behaviour! I found out that it was due to the touchpad/track button driver not being properly installed, so I unistalled it and rebooted, and Vista correctly detected and installed the driver.
Next, I noticed that adjusting the brightness or volume no longer gave any on-screen indications. They would still 'work', but I wouldn't get any feedback. Eventually I figured out that there was a program, TPOSDSVC, in the c:\Program Files\Lenovo\HOTKEY directory, which had to be running. I explicitly placed it in my StartUp folder and it seems to be working now.
However, I have now also noticed that several other features are missing. I used to have Access Connections in my system tray, and I think also the Lenovo Message Centre; neither are presently there. Also there was a very handy green battery image just to the left of the system tray, along with an indicator as to whether I was plugged in; these are now also both gone.
It seems to me that all of these issues are related, and they all started after that last Windows update. Is there any quick way to address them all, in one fell swoop? If there's no single solution, and I just have to track down individual programs and place them in StartUp, then I guess I'll settle for that, but it seems a rather kludgy way to go about it. I feel like I've made reasonable efforts in getting some idea of what's going on, so any additional help anyone here can give would be most appreciated.
Thanks very much!

Don't have any suggestions for you but for anyone else who might, they might need to know what model Thinkpad you have. Didn't see that mentioned anywhere in your post.
HP DV8t | Intel i7-Q 720 | 6GB (DDR3 1333) RAM | 1 TB (500GB Seagate 7200 rpm x2)| GeForce GT 230M (1GB) | 18.4" FHD | SuperMulti 8X w Lightscribe | FP Reader | Bluetooth | HDTV Tuner | Win 7 Ultimate x64. Backup: T61p (8891-CTO)
Well I would try running System Update 3.10.0007
ThinkPad T60p T7600 4 GB RAM 320 GB 7200 RPM HD Vista Ultimate Service Pack 2 5.1 4.7 4.2 4.6 5.8-
