I don't get what you are looking for?

what do you need or not need when you are connected to wireless?

What I am looking for is a small application that runs in the background and when you are connected to the wirless you are "invinsible" meaning the administrators of the wireless don't know that i am logged in

An admin would always know if you were connected as your MAC address would show in the routing table on the AP.

There might be a way to hide a high level connection but if you get down to the lower levels a connection will always leave a mark.

I don't know what you might be trying to do. The MAC address my ISP knows about is from a router (not a PC), and I have WAN blocking enabled at the router. So the ISP cannot see my PC (I know this because we have talked on the phone). But they do know what traffic is coming from my router (and therefore under my overall control). There is no way to hide from your ISP. ... JDHurst

which means you want to use someone's wireless without them knowing or being able to track you down?

Or if you wear asbestos you could try the netstumbler forums.

I forgot to mention - if you post on alt.2600 be sure to include your real email address and IP.

Oh - and if anyone sends you a file, this type of software often triggers false anti-virus and firewall alerts. So be sure to disable your anti-virus softare and firewall before downloading or installing anything from anyone on alt.2600.
