Different language for Vista Business???

#1 Post by Crunch » Sun Dec 23, 2007 8:12 pm

Hey all,

I decided to give my dad a T60p, which came with a Vista Business license, 32-bit. On the Recovery DVD, it says Multilingual, so does that mean if I choose German, it will install the whole thing in German?

If that won't work, and since I my license is for Vista Ultimate, can I download the German language pack and apply it to my dad's Vista Business installation?

I'm excited. He'll love the T60p! Thanks for any advice...;)

Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!! :)

Well normally that's how it would go. If you put in the disk and it pulls up in german automatically then yeah it should have the whole thing in German. You can however install it in English even if it's a German install or vice-versa. They usually have 5 or more languages for installing but just one main one for usage

Thanks for replying. Apparently, however, that's not how it works. I tried it in several different scenarios, and it even says "This is not a valid Vista Ultimate key", and upon installation, it warns you that you have to make sure to check the correct edition, because if you do not, the instruction is that you will have to re-install the entire OS with the correct edition all over again.

No biggie. Just wanted to share. ;)
