Blank Device Manager, iPod Connection, Etc. XP SP2

#1 Post by Sleep Machine » Mon Jan 21, 2008 6:25 pm

I installed XP SP3 on my T60p and noticed the following problems:

1. Blank Device Manager.
2. Missing connections in Network Connections.
3. Significant time and "flashlight" opening My Computer.
4. iPod is recognized in My Computer but not in iTunes with message: "iPod Service Module has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
5. Etc.

I tried lots of things to no avail. I removed SP3 and ensured that all of the SP2 updates were in place, but to no avail.

From my Google search, it appears that this is a long-time problem with no good answer. All of the problems persist.

Help.

Can you give more detail about the 'long time problems', or a page that explains them a little more clearly. I'm trying to figure out if it's related to hard of software, and more importantly how.
