With XP you can allow remote login.

But rather than using that piece of cripple-ware, sign up with GMail.

Remove outlook express ?

#3 Post by kingman99 » Thu Jan 24, 2008 2:17 pm

Hi

Before l do anything with a remote access l am having trouble with Outlook Express letting me in. Before l had an account with Outlook on my 600X but since the hd went l am using my t-40
wind xp.
Now l can't get into anything. The first thing l did was enter my address and password, but nothing happened. I tried setting up another account using the same address and password but it still will not let me in.
So what l want to do is erase everything on outlook and start from square one.
What is the best way to do it and then how do l get outlook exress back again so l can start fresh?

Thanks

Alan

PS l am only average with computer know how so please try to explain it like you were talking to a half wit! HAHAHA

Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs. Then select Add/Remove Windows Components (on the left).
Find Outlook Express and untick/uninstall it, then tick/reinstall it.
You should now be able to start from scratch.

Make a note first of your userid, email address, password, and ISP settings.

Alternatively, as I suggested earlier, sign up with Gmail, you can access your emails then from any PC/laptop anywhere in the world.
