laptop goes to sleep when lid is shut but..

..if i give the user admin rights it doesnt sleep when i shut it.

checked and double checked the power settings (windows and battery maximiser) and the bios to make sure they are not set to sleep when shut.

any ideas why its doing this?

found out purely by accident what it is, even though if im logged in as the current user (no admin rights) and power options displayed do nothing for closing the lid.

however if i went to the control panel and did a runas (as a admin) on power options, it would show standby on close lid!

that is a little weird, as if i login with the above admin account, the power options arent set to standby on lid close so im not sure where its getting the standby from tbh.
