Winamp frequently crashing Windows Explorer?

#1 Post by Dancalio » Sat Dec 04, 2004 9:09 am

I bought my first thinkpad recently and I love it. I run my business and life from my computer and I now and wondering how I ever got by without a notebook.

But I'm having a technical difficulty with winamp. It is related to an error message about Windows Explorer getting an error needing to be shut down. It seems to happen when I minimize winamp and only happens about 1 in 15 times.

Anybody have an idea of what might be going on?

Thanks,
Daniel

Hmm, well, that is one solution :).

I quite enjoy playing mp3's in the background while I'm working. When it causes Windows Explorer to crash, it's not a critical problem. None of my programs get affected, and I can get back to where I was in about 15 seconds.

Still, this shouldn't be happening and I bet there's a way to fix this.

Try uninstalling it, reboot, clean the registry of all remnants, reboot, clean the registry, search the C: drive for remnants, reboot, reinstall and keep your fingers crossed.

If all else fails, use another media player.
