Rescue and Recovery Backup to External Disk

I'm trying to make a Rescue and Recovery Backup to an external HD drive. There are two partitions on it so I assumed that I could choose a partition for the backup. I cannot figure out how to do this. RR seems to automatically pick one (and I don't know which one that is). All help is welcome. Thanks. Luc.
