"An unsupported Operation was attempted" P Manager

Hi guys, I've had my X61 tablet for about 3 weeks now, great little machine. The power manager used to work, but now whenever i try to open it to change power plan settings, it gives me the error "An unsupported operation was attempted", whether i'm double clicking on the battery icon, or using a shortcut to open it. I'm refering to the utility where you can fine tune what the different power plans do, or make your own, eg. "max performance, max battery... etc. any help on this would be great.
