borrowing OS system: urgent!!!

#1 Post by mop » Sat Mar 15, 2008 6:10 pm

Is it possible for someone who format his/her HDD drive (without backing up the original OS up) and therefore the think advantage button does not work?

Is it fine to let someone borrow you laptop to back up the recovery dvds?

#1 Yes, in order to retain the thinkpad software via the OS you need to use the Lenovo CD's or restore from the machine's hidden protected area.

#2 It's your laptop, if they have a similar model to yours that would be fine.
