Web speed

#1 Post by Perdu » Tue Mar 18, 2008 7:43 pm

I am completely non technical so sorry if this is obvious. One my new T60 the web seems slower than my old Sony. The pages loads quickly but the hourglass (vista circle) remains on the screen for 5-6-7 seconds or more.

Are there specific settings I should be using?
Why does it render the page and then sit around?

Thanks, Gary

Possible solution:

T61 - Slow IE load times.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Thanks, I did that in IE, but I should have explained that I use Monzilla V2. I don't seem to have the same problem with IE so maybe I should change browser?

So as it seems, it is Mozilla V2 specific issue, not your thinkpad's.

Do you have any kind of extensions enabled in firefox or some antispyware shielding your browsing?

In any case you should also go to Mozilla's forum and post about your problem there.
