virus scanner

Has anyone noticed any slowness in Vista with a virus scanner that runs in the background?

I was unhappy with Norton, but now I use Kaspersky. It's far less intrusive, and I'm not noticing any slowdown in the laptop now.

Norton was annoying with it's childish, "I did! I did!" when it performed any function you'd expect it to, and it made my T61p run like a slug anyway. Good riddance...
W550s touch, T61p, R52, gone but not forgotten T40
