Encryption available in Access Connections 4.42 on Vista

#1 Post by bri » Wed Apr 02, 2008 6:18 pm

Seems like the options are different from AC 4.42 running on WinXP. I need to use Cisco EAP-LEAP encryption/authentication to connect to a network and it doesn't show up on AC 4.42 running on Vista. Ideas? Was it left out?

Found the answer, install notes say "* There is no support for Cisco Compatible wireless authentication (CCX) features in this version."

wth? Now to see if any older version DOES have Cisco authentication...

I guess there is no Vista compatible version of the MeetingHouse supplicant that was used by almost all vendors to get LEAP. That's why none of the Vista WLAN drivers supports LEAP at this time.

yea looks like it's not supported under Vista at all:

sucks. but i also found out that the network I'm concerned with (gw law school) is moving away from LEAP next year so the issue will go away.
