Essenital software

#1 Post by bradk » Fri Apr 18, 2008 7:24 am

Hi all,

I'm about to do a clean Windows XP install on my X61 and it's my first Thinkpad laptop. What are essential software should I install, other than drivers? I do not want to run many processes on my laptop so I'll like to know more about it before I go ahead and do the clean install.

I already searched on this forum and found some posts, although some posts are two years old and things may changed by then. I only think of necessary software to have are battery power management, harddrive protection, and probably access connection. Is ThinkVintage important to have? I think the software I mentioned are all part of ThinkVintage.

Thanks

If you are doing a clean install, other than drivers there is no essential software. you may choose to install what you feel is "essential"
