Running Driver Verifier and then BSoD upon restarts?

#1 Post by jlingo » Thu Apr 24, 2008 5:16 pm

I was trying to run verifier today from the command prompt. and it asked me to restart my computer. The minute I restarted my computer. It no longer wanted to boot into windows anymore. It kept on giving me Stop: 0x000000CD (0x90949000, 0x00000000, 0x82c5e323, 0x00000000)

The system is attempting to access memory beyond the end of the allocation. This usually indiczates a system-driver synchronization issue.

These are unsigned drivers that Verifier found:
Aspi32.sys – ASPI for Win32Kernel Driver
iViaspi.sys - Intervideo ASPI Shell
oxfwlf.sys - 1394 Filter Driver
pfc.sys- Padus® ASPI Shell
SSport.sys- 32bit Port Contention driver
Sxuptp.sys- sxuptp driver
Tvfilter.sys- rescue and recovery filter driver

I had to choose Last Known Good Configuration to be able to boot again.

Anything I could do from this on?

But the real concern is actually random Stop:0x000000C5 I still keep on getting this once a while. Really couldn't figure out what seems to be the problem. I have tried to play 3dmark2005 for 15 minutes and rock stable. I ran also PC-Doctor memory test 10 times and no problem. But when I'm working on regular office, it could sometimes BSoD and I lost my work :( Sometimes it happens Once a day, others once a week. It's very inconsistent. I couldn't pin point any regularity, to narrow down the possible problem.

During burning in:
1 cpu 80°C (0x78)
2 aps 46°C (0x79)
3 crd 41°C (0x7a)
4 gpu 76°C (0x7b)
5 bat 50°C (0x7c)
6 x7d n/a (0x7d)
7 bat 35°C (0x7e)
8 x7f n/a (0x7f)
9 bus 47°C (0xc0)
10 pci 59°C (0xc1)
11 pwr 63°C (0xc2)
12 xc3 n/a (0xc3)

The sadness part is, I seem to be alone in the forum who experienced this problem!
IBM T60 2623A24- 2GHz T7200, 3GB RAM, 128GB Corsair S128, 14" SAMSUNG LCD SXGA+ TFT, 128Mb X1400,
Intel 802.11abg wireless, BT, and Vista Business SP1, 9-Cell Battery
80GB Intel X25-M SSD, 64GB Mtron 3500

Driver verifier's checks have uncovered a problem with one of your drivers. Typically, a kernel programmer would analyze the resulting dump file with the Windbg debugger. If you're not in a position to do that, you can still try to narrow down the suspects by enabling verifier selectively. Instead of choosing to verify all drivers, you could select one at a time (which would be very time consuming), or do half the drivers on each run.

Hope that helps,
Gary
