Thinkpad r51 And Vista 64 Bit

Can someone tell me if my Thinkpad r51 can run the 64 bit version of vista ultimate. IE Is my R51 a 64 bit computer model.
Its A R51 2887 Thanks.

No, the first 64bit Thinkpad was the T61 with the SantaRosa chipset.

The Pentium M and Celeron M processors available for R51 are not 64-bit capable. Of Intel's mobile processors, only Core 2 Duo and other Merom core processors are 64-bit capable.

Just nitpicking. ;) Core 2 Duo processors became available on T60 in Q4 2006 so they are the first T series that are 64-bit capable. I got one of these specimens running Vista 64 here.

It would be easier to help you if you tell us what CPU you have. If it's Core 2 Duo, then it does support 64 bit.

Now it's my turn to be nit-picking :). R51's did not come with a Core 2 Duo. Pentium M's and Celeron M's only.
