Problems with admin account

#1 Post by porfors » Thu May 08, 2008 11:52 am

hi guys , recently bought a t61p , i had some problems with the admin account.

First-Whenever i put the computer to sleep and after i had wake it up , the password that i had assigned would not work and i have to restart re-login (this part works with the password).

Second-I tired out the fingerprint software , during the wizard, it prompted me to enter the windows password and it wouldn't accept the password even though the password work for the login page.

Any forms of help is much appreicated :D [/list]

Is this the account named "Administrator" or another account with Administrator privilege?

If it is the former, the account is disabled by default in Vista and should not be used, unless you have a braindead legacy program that can only be run from an account named "Administrator".

If it is the latter, try resetting the password. E.g., login, press ctrl-alt-del and select the "change a password..." option. If it still doesn't work, try delete the user profile from another account with Administrator privileges.
