Wired Network issue out of hibernation, only wireless works

#1 Post by johnp126 » Mon Jun 09, 2008 8:48 pm

Vista 64bit business SP1 T61p 4gb ram 7200 200gb hd

All patched with windowsupdate and lenovo patches. Noticed an issue that sometimes out of hibernation the machine will only work on wireless even though its on an advanced mini dock and is plugged in. Tried with access connections to have it disconnect connect but still no good. finally found that if i disable then enable the wired port under:

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections

then it works. i don't remember when this started happening because i wasn't always checking if it was using wired or wireless but i think it worked before.

Anyone have similar issue?

probably an issue with deeper sleep mode of Windows Vista. Even though you aren't putting the machine to sleep it still might be causing it.

Go to the device manager - intel LAN card - properties - power management tab - Uncheck "Allow Windows to turn off this device to save power" and click ok.

See if that makes a difference. I have mine enabled, even though i don't have the problems you exibit, i figured why not try it anyways.
Current - Thinkpad T410si - Core i3 330m, 4GB, 250GB 5400RPM, WXGA+, FPR, BT, Camera, DVDRW, Gobi2000, Win7 Pro x32
Past - Thinkpad T410 - T400 - T61 - T60 - T43 - T42 - T41 - T40 - T23 - 600X
