On my other laptop - Thinkpad T22 - with Win2000 Pro, I installed a suggested Microsoft Security update and lost my Flash player in Firefox 2. I tried to reinstall, get error message.
In MS Explorer v.6 Flash was still working at that time.
However to reinstall in Firefox I received instruction to Uninstall previous version of Flash before reinstalling.
Now I have no access to video in Firefox or Explorer. All attempts ro reinstall Flash have failed, both in Explorer and Firefox.
Adobe Technical Note 10166 says "Download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permission issues that prevent the Flash Player installation"
I downloaded it, but it doesn't work. A black rectangle flashes on screen for a few milisecs and then disappears
ANY suggestions - how to get out of this problem?
I would hate to have to completely reload Win20000 and all linked programs on my laptop.

I found this forum thread on the Adobe site, it speaks of this problem, I'm wondering if you can get any help from the Mozilla site, by contacting their Support:

Hi acrom116,
Microsoft’s SubInACL is used to fix Windows permission errors and is offered as a solution for end-users who can’t install the ActiveX version of Flash Player on Window IE. This is not used for Firefox. Flash Player for Firefox is simply a plug-in and does not rely on the system registry like IE does.
Is there one specific site that is giving you this error message?
