VMware/VirtualBox users: How do I enable scrolling in guest?
When I installed VMWare and VirtualBox to run Ubuntu under Windows host, I can't get the guest Ubuntu OS to scroll.
I can enable scrolling under VMware on my desktop machine, with a usb scroll mouse. If I make the same edits to the xorg.conf on my X40, it doesn't work. It seems like VMware/VirtualBox doesn't like the trackpoint.
I'd be great to get this working. If I run Ubuntu natively, it will support the trackpoint. However, I'd like to run it under virtual machine. Also, an usb mouse is not an option. I like to use it on the go.
Does anybody else have problems with this? How did you resolve it?

Have you looked at the Thinkpad Scroll Daemon project - not sure if it would help though.

I guess no solution.
I'll have to look into do undervolting on Ubuntu then. That's one of the advantage of windows. Just install NHC and undervolt. That, along with all the IBM Thinkvantage software support.

Try to add to "Pass 0" section of the file
C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\TP4table.dat
the following lines:
;VirtualBox.exe

Thanks! I'll have to look into that. First thing I need to do is to try to install this Synaptic software. It's not preinstalled. Where can I download it?yufe wrote:Try to add to "Pass 0" section of the file
