Reduce Rapid Restore Data

#1 Post by schwarcz » Mon Jan 03, 2005 9:28 pm

Is there any way to reduce the number of backup data sets that Rapid Restore Ultra keeps? It is now taking up nearly 50% (15GB)of my hard drive space.

If not, will uninstalling the software remove the data?

I've been unable to find a reference documentation so any pointers would be appreciated.

I've got a T42 running Win XP Pro SP2 with Rapid Restore Ultra 4.0

Don't know the answer, but the latest version of IBM Rescue & Recovery allows you to selectively delete backups.

in c:\program files\IBM\Rapid Restore Ultra is a file called tvt.txt. You can edit it and look for the entry "MaxNumberOfIncrementalBackups=5". Just change the number to your preferred value.
