Access Connections slow to start

#1 Post by DavidNZ » Tue Jan 04, 2005 1:52 am

Hi everyone,

I'm running AC 3.30 on an X40. In the past few days, it has been extremely slow to load on startup.

Normally, when I boot up first thing in the morning, everthing loads in the system tray in reasonably quick succession, but for some reason there is a significant pause (and it's exactly 60 seconds) before Access Connections loads. During this 60 second pause, there is no HDD activity at all. And, during this 60 second pause, I am fully able to use the computer normally.

I'm stumped. I run two profiles. One is ethernet for when I'm at the office, the other is a simple WLAN for my wireless network at home. I'm fairly sure both are set

I've crawled through AC to see if there is some setting relating to a '60 second delay' or similar but can't find anything.

I've read one thread here (http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... ns+startup) where someone had the sample problem on a T, but enabling Wireless Zero solved. Problem is, i've never disabled Wireless Zero - it's always been set to automatic.

Anyone else experience this?

David

OK, solved the problem, but not the cause. A system restore to late last week when it loaded fine solved, but can't think of what, if anything, i've done to the machine in the past week that would cause this.

Oh well.
