Has anyone had much luck with the password manager component of client security package 5.4? This is on a new T42P if it matters.
While the promotional material makes it look good, in practice it seems to be pretty - well - "unpolished" is about as polite as I could put it. I'm mainly interested in it for managing a large number of web passwords.
First - it only works with IE. Pretty big problem right there. Second - it doesn't seem to recognize fields on some webpages at all (like the login page for gmail.google.com for example).
Am I wasting time trying to get this to work or is there some hope?
Client security / password manager
Hi LRoy,
I agree that it doesn't always perform. Ebay is another site it doesn't like. I think it has something to do with the site URL changing. Some of the more sophisticated sites put extra charachters into the webpage address when you load it (634392692@@@@hefh3902u etc..) As this changes with each visit - the password manager doesn't recognise the page; even though you've got the details stored.
I may be wrong about all this, but it's something I've noticed. However; Password Manager works well enough for most sites that I visit and all you have to do is CTRL+F2 and provide a fingerprint.
