Remove Tablet Keyboard from Desktop

Am trying to remove the tablet "virtual" keyboard from my desktop. Anyone know if this is possible.

Have an X60 --non tablet--- that has windows XP tablet version loaded. A virtual keyboard sits on my desktop and would like to kill it....any suggestions.

Also on the taskbar sits a quick launch tab that brings up a keyboard I would like to kill. Again any suggestions would be appreciated.
