Smooth Scrolling in IE doesn't stay

#1 Post by pramit » Sat Jun 05, 2004 4:07 pm

Every time i reboot my machine, my 'Enable Smooth Scrolling' feature in IE gets reset to the unchecked state. I've manually entered the value as per this page http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/1018/ but it still doesn't stay.

Any advice?

What TP do you have? If it's a T40 series then install the latest UltraNav driver (2000/XP), it solves the problem.

I. Summary of changes
Version 7.5.17.10

(Fix) Cannot switch the primary/secondary button settings of TrackPoint buttons on "IBM USB Keyboard with UltraNav."
NOTE: "Switch primary and secondry buttons" setting on the Mouse Properties panel will be applied to both of TrackPoint on the system keyboard and "IBM USB Keyboard with UltraNav."
(Fix) "Use smooth scrolling" option of Internet Explorer is unchecked after restarting the system.

This ultranav driver update worked and solved the problem like a charm.

What's interesting is that the driver was released May 17, 2004, and the machine I have is a hot off the press T42p (2379DYU) that was only (put together and) shipped to me less than 4 days ago.

Thank you for your help though.

For new laptops, IBM uses a hard drive image that isn't current as they only update it a few times a year and updates come out all the time. Nothing suprising here.
