I ran a file system check on the 90% full 60GB drive (), which did not find anything. Nothing has been changed on this T23 in quite awhile (hardware or software) so I'm pretty sure it can't be that. I've yet to run a memory diagnostic but I'm thinking that a background database compression was the cause of the BSOD, my first in many moons....

Interesting bad_pool_header BSOD in WinXP and Firefox 3
A few minutes ago I was typing up a reply in another thread when the keyboard appeared to lock up in the middle of hitting the backspace key several times in a row. I was able to switch to other applications (Alt-Tab) that were running but not do anything in them. Up in the Firefox 3 title bar, "Not responding" was being shown. After a couple of more seconds I was greeted with a bad_pool_header Blue Screen and the system re-booted. On restart, I figured that Firefox would save all of the tabs that I had opened when the system crashed but was pleasantly surprised that I was still logged into TPF (eBay signed me out) and that almost all of the typing I had done was saved
.

I remember posting about that before. One of the causes at least is bad memory.

Ray - I hope it is hardware error (not that I want you to any errors), but people like you and me are so careful with our computers that BSOD's have become a distant past of Win9x (gone in 1999 in my case). So I hope you are not breaking our record and having OS problems

Re: Interesting bad_pool_header BSOD in WinXP and Firefox 3
I used W2K until 2005, I was a late converter to XP.
I am not quite that far yet, but the current XP-Pro installation on my desktop dates from May 2005.
This too is a crashfree install.
That PC is a dual-boot W2K and XP, but I can't remember the last time I even booted into W2K.
Only problem I ever had was caused by the Agnitum Outpost Pro V3 firewall, which I dumped, first for Comodo, and finally for Online Armor.
I need to clone the two 80GB hard disks soon, as they are getting full.
I am actually considering a fresh install (which would put me out of your league...)

I have done fresh installs to increase hard drive capacity, but I don't regard that as a crash or breaking my own record. So you are still in our league.
