Changing the icons for Documents, Pictures, Music, etc?

#1 Post by Ryan_C » Sat Mar 21, 2009 5:37 am

I was wondering how I would change certain icons. I know Personalize > Change desktop icons, but the only icons there I can change are Computer, personal folder, Network, recycle bin full, and recycle bin empty. I would like to change the icons for the Documents folder, Pictures, Music, and some of the other folders. In XP, it was just rightclick the icon > properties > customize > change icon, but in Vista it doesn't appear to be there.

Download a .ico file of your choice off the internet. Put it in your documents in a folder if you wanna keep the house clean. I usually go with [username]>Documents>Pictures>Icons. Right click on an icon. Go to properties>change icon. It will then bring up a Window with a list of icons. Click Browse. Go to your icon and your set.
