To install the Intel 2200BG driver in Windows 7 beta, the trick was to download and extract the XP driver to your hard drive (run the download, but do not run setup.exe from C:\Drivers\...), then go into Device Manager and choose update driver for the Intel 2200BG adapter. Point the hardware wizard to the subdirectory of C:\DRIVERS\WIN where the inf file is located (example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLANINT2\Vista\Drivers\v32), and install. Perhaps this method would work for you.
I know you've been around awhile, but I'll ask anyway since some people do not use the manual method of installing drivers from Lenovo. Generally when you download a package from Lenovo, you have to run it to extract it's contents to the hard drive. This does not install the package. After running the download, you have to run setup.exe from the appropriate subdirectory of C:\DRIVERS\. Occasionally it won't be setup.exe, but another .exe file. You can open the .XML files (double-click on them) in the subdirectories of C:\DRIVERS\ to see which software or driver that subdirectory is for. The reason I bring this up is, if you did not perform this second step, you have not yet installed the driver. Also check the readme file for your driver for any dependencies. Generally speaking you should always install the Lenovo Power Managment driver and the Lenovo System Interface driver when running Vista or Windows 7. I also recommend installing the Hotkey Features driver.
