Fingerprint login to websites?

Is it possible to get the fingerprint reader on a T42 to allow me to log into websites (eg. email) instead of right-clicking the password application (sorry, the name is escaping me) in the right corner and choosing "recall" every time?

I am also interested in knowing if the fingerprint scanner can be configured to work with websites etc.. or it is just the windows and power on passwords.

I have a X31 with a PCMCIA fingerprint reader. Once installed and configured, you can use a utility called IBM Password Manager that will store logins and passwords for all the websites you visit.

When you go back to the website, you press CTRL+F2 and the software will fill in the fields for you. Simply supply your fingerprint when prompted and you're in. you can even choose whether the Enter button keystroke is sent (as you would do when typing). You need to set up each website beforehand, but it usually works quite well. Having said that; I'm not quite sure how each site is identified (probably URL) but I have found that sites who's login URL changes each visit don't tend to work too well. Ebay is one of them as it adds random letters and numbers each time you visit.

The IBM software is designed to compliment the TCPA chip (or IBM Embedded Security Subsystem; as they call it) Your passwords are encrypted and live on the chip. Beacuse I don't have a built in biometrics, my reader came with it's own software utils that do this - but it's purely a software soloution. I prefer to use the Thinkpad's inbuilt hardware security and feel a little more reassured for it, but it's not 100%perfect.
