T60 with 3GB DDR2 - not run fast as it should on XP

#1 Post by Wiking » Wed May 13, 2009 10:19 am

Hi
For few months I have IBM T60 with WIN XP Pro. At first I had with it only 1GB DDR2 RAM but about a 2 months ago I bought
one stick with 2GB made by kingston.
Still, the perfomance is not good as I hought. I don't feel any change in speed.
What more can I do to improve it or may be I need to do something to run it faster ?
Windows see the memory so it is working.
T60's tech data is: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5600 @ 1.83GHz
3GB DDR2 RAM and 80GB HDD.

Thank you.

About the only thing left would be to upgrade your hard disk to a 7200rpm model (if it is 5400rpm now).
Clean out all your junk, temporary files and Internet Explorer/firefox caches, then do a defrag.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
