How to RnR Vista without various bloatware ?

#1 Post by elvair » Fri May 22, 2009 8:25 am

Somebody mentioned somewher eon forum that if you use disks in order to recover system, then it is possible to uncheck options for stuff like MS office 2007 for example, that way you dont get it installed on your machine in the first place, not even in the form of trial version. I dont want MS Office 2007, because it is a total pain to remove it completelly - half of the work needs to be done by hand.

I just did RnR with disks and didnt notice any options which allows you to get rid of bloatware, anyone knows anything about it ?

Many thanks !

Restore your HD via hidden partition (press blue TV button on startup) and choose custom restore option...

Search forum for more details...

Sorry, but on Montevina systems with Vista the option to run a custom install is not available. :(
bloo explains this in the Lenovo Community forums here

Thanks Andy that is very informative response, answers the question perfectly. And its no cool, of course it will be much more useful to be abe to do modular RnR and save time later on removing all that bloatware stuff.

Well, maybe anyone can point me to any good Office 2007 removal guide ? Half of that stuff needs to be removed manually ... :/
