Horizontal icon spacing, 1400x1050

#1 Post by skuehne » Wed Feb 02, 2005 10:33 am

I just got my new T42 and the 1400x1050 resolution is quite nice! However, I noticed that the invisible grid used by Win XP for icons on the desktop and in folders has a somewhat wide horizontal spacing. Much wider than in the vertical direction.

I never noticed this on any of other machines I have, running 1024x768 and 1200x1024. So I guess it has something to do with the 'stretched' 1400x1050 resolution. Is there a way to adjust the spacing? Some registry setting perhaps? Or do I have to turn off the grid and arrange icons manually?

I think what you want is in the Display Properties -> Appearance -> Advanced screen. In the dropdown that says Desktop, you can select Icon Spacing (Horizontal) and Icon Spacing (Vertical) to change these settings.
