Scratchy voice recording quality on T43

#1 Post by runbei » Sat Sep 26, 2009 11:47 pm

I get excellent voice recording quality using Audacity under Linux Mint (same as Ubuntu 9.04), but the quality is very scratchy under WinXP Pro using either the Voice Recorder or a different app, DemoBuilder. Is there a way to fix this? Unfortunately, I'm doing a voiceover for a client's demo and can't use Audacity or Linux.

Hi Runbei,

Just a guess here:

Linux takes a lot less system resources than Windows.
Possibly shutting down some programs in Windows will allow it to record smoothly.

Good health, Weogo

Thanks, Weogo. Never managed to fix it in Windows, but it worked fine using WinXP Pro natively (not virtualized in Linux/VirtualBox).
